Do you have unclaimed funds?

In the past, it's always been labor-intensive to check if you have unclaimed funds held by US government entities. You would have had to find and search all state unclaimed property website all states in which you ever lived.

Well, no more. You can still use that method, and the list of state websites is located here or here to include Canada, but I suggest an easier, streamlined method.

There's one website which allows you to search almost all states' websites, in one shot. It's operated on behalf of the National Association of State Treasurers, Inc. (NAST) in collaboration with the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA), and the federal government lists NAUPA as the source to locate your unclaimed funds. In other words, I trust it.

If you find any unclaimed funds, you'll have to fill out some forms, but it's worth it!
